There will be no charge for the lectures but tickets are available for three cost recovery elements: bus to and from Brigus: $20; Lunch: $15; Supper $35. Thursday, May 21st , 2009. Evening Session. Opening Lecture

Location: The Rooms, St. John's

  Introduction to Bob Bartlett by Catherine Dempsey, Executive Director of Historic Sites Association. Illustrated with photos.
  Lecture by Jennifer Niven, author of The Ice Master, on "Captain Bartlett and the Last Voyage of the Karluk".
  Reception given by The Rooms Provincial Archives.

Friday, May 22nd Evening Session. Bartlett on Film

Location: Memorial University, INCO Centre Theatre, St. John's

09:00 AM Our own dedicated bus will take you at 9:00 am from the front of the Terrace in the Square, Churchill Square, St. John’s to the Knights of Columbus Hall in Brigus.
  Cost to passengers for roundtrip: $20.

5:15 - Speaker's Corner. Attendees may hang out at the hall and chat with attendees and speakers until it's time to move to the Rec Centre for supper

Shane O'Dea will wrap up the symposium and provide some words of wisdom.
Clyde K. Wells will propose a toast to Capt. Bartlett.

at 9:00pm, our bus will leave from the Rec Centre and return you to Churchill Square.


Sunday, May 24th Brigus.

  Post- symposium Walking Tour of Brigus. Using the "Brigus Stone Barn Walks" pamphlet, people can create their own tours of the town, including visits to Hawthorne Cottage, the Stone Barn Museum and Landfall.
